Giant pestle and mortar - the largest in the world. Macael, Almería province, Spain
Accepted as the largest pestle and mortar in the world, this monumental 50,000kg piece has held a Guinness World Record since 2015. Sculptered from local Macael marble the piece perfectly imitates a classic marble mortar. The pestle is made of local yellow marble. It is situated on a rounabout at the junction of Avenida Andalucía and Avenida de Ronda. Macael marble is world famous and used for sculptures and decoration throughout Spain.
