Shabti of Yuya, New Kingdom, Dynasty 18, ca. 1390–1352 , From Egypt, Upper Egypt, Thebes, Valley of the Kings, Tomb of Yuya and Tjuyu (KV 46), Davis/Quibell & Weigall excavations, 1905, Cedar, paint, Egyptian blue, H. 27 cm (10 5/8 in.), As the parents of Queen Tiye, wife of Amenhotep III, Yuya and Tjuyu were granted burial in the Valley of the Kings. They were provided with funerary equipment from the finest royal workshops, as demonstrated by this superbly carved shabti on which even the knees are subtly indicated
