Stacey Bell stands next to “Sid Bell Falls” on the shoreline of Lake Cumberland Aug. 5, 2022, during a visit to the landmark in Watauga, Kentucky. Stacey is the granddaughter of Sid Bell. It was her idea to approach the Corps of Engineers about officially naming the falls. The naming also helps first responders with knowing where to go in case of emergencies.
