The fruits are very deep through from stem to blossom end, the solid flesh is entirely free from hard core, free from rot and do not crack open in wet weather. Comes highly recommended. T<velve specimens have been exhibited that wsighed 16^:; pounds, and one monster tipping the scale at nearly four pounds. The vines are strong and vigorous, its fruits are very free from ridges . The skin is very firm, mak- ing it a fine variety for shipping purposes. This tomato originated with the Rev. W. H. Rust, who lives in Northern Mis- souri. For several years he has been trying to get a tomato that would be earlier and better than anything else in the list. The Early June Tomato is the result of his 20 years' patient experimenting. Here is Rev. Rust's brief de- scription of this variety : "I believe it to be the earliest of all. Not only is it early, but large. In color it is crimson red and very attractive. It is almost seedless, the flesh'thick and firm, and the flavor delicious. It is a heavy yielder and holds up its size till near the end of the season. Per pkt
