When a bird will remain on thewing for five minutes and return to itsperch at its masters call, it is considered ashaving been highly trained, and is held ingreat estimation. The natives may be oftenseen engaged in training the birds in theopen space in the centre of the village. Thebirds are encouraged in their flight by apeculiar mode of jerking the string.
