A German Landsknecht "Katzbalger" sword, assembled from antique parts, ca. 1540 Double-edged blade with rounded tip, in the upper half of one side the vestiges of a rubbed inscription. Spirally grooved, S-shaped curved quillons with cut finials, the knuckle-bow with one reverse side bar. Renewed, leather grip cover, spirally fluted pommel. Metal hilt parts are heavily pitted in places. Length cm.
