161009-N-IT566-206 Caribbean Sea (Oct. 9, 2016) The amphibious dock transport ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) conducts operations off the coast of Haiti as part of the disaster relief efforts and humanitarian mission in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. The role of Joint Task Force-Matthew during this disaster relief mission is to rapidly respond with critically-needed capabilities to deliver assistance and aid to area of Haiti the government deems most necessary.
