The Cloud Gate (also known as The Bean and The Kidney Bean) sculpture in Millennium Park is a tourist attraction even in winter. The work, created by Anish Kapoor, completed in 2004, reflects its surroundings which includes portions of the Chicago skyline as well as those who stop to gaze at it. Those not occupied with the sculpture rest along the railing above the Park Grill while observing the skaters on the ice rink below shortly before Christmas. The rink sits along Michigan Avenue and beneath segments of the Chicago skyline including a portion of the Michigan Avenue skyline reflected in Cloud Gate.
