The Big Buddha (the Tian Tan) Buddah is at Ngong Ping on Lantau Island, Hong Kong. It is situated near the Po Lin Monastery. It is the world’s largest bronze figure Buddha, being 35 metres tall and weighing 250 tons. It was empowered in December 1993. It is situated on a mound and is reached by climbing 268 steps. Lantau Island also is home to Hong Kong’s International Airport, Disneyland and the kilometer Ngong Ping cable car.
