The giant 10 feet high sculpture of a Dorking cockerel at Deepdene roundabout, Dorking, Surrey
Introduced by the Romans, the Dorking cockerel with five claws to each foot (hence known locally as "five clawed 'un") became a favourite breed in nineteenth century England. The cockerel was incorporated in Dorking town's coat of arms in 1951.
