The taper key orcotter, if you like to call it that, is itselfinteresting. It is made of spring steeldoubled over and tapered along the free points naturally spring openso that when the key is in place the tapersides draw the fingers of the lock tight,but the springiness of the key itself keepsit in place so that it cannot work or jarout. A neat little chain secures the keyto one of the lock arms.
