Red soldier beetle (Rhagonycha fulva). An easy to identify species of the Cantharidae family being nearly all red with a black tip on the elytra. Very common on grasslands during the summer months often found as mating pairs on the tops of tall grasses and flowers. Photographed in Somerset, UK, in July.
