Old cargo boat, abandoned, bygone era, hulk wreck, rusting, The Humber Bridge, Kingston upon Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire, road suspension bridge.
The Humber Bridge Board insists it has learnt from the mistakes of July, when toll booth closures during an upgrade programme led to tailbacks stretching to Willerby and past Barton- upon-Humber on the south bank. Meanwhile, latest figures show a drop in income for the first 20 weeks of this year by of per cent compared with the first 24 weeks of the previous year, when the reduction in toll charges were first introduced. "I believe the reduction might be down to people initially greeting the toll reductions enthusiastically by visiting shops and exploring places they hadn't before. Just one lane will be operating in each direction on the bridge and reduced speed limits will be enforced while the work is completed. Bridge bosses say the repairs are vital, replacing four solid steel A-frames, which connect the main span bridge deck to the towers at either end of the bridge.
