Celadon water dropper with salamander and tortoise, early Choson period, Korea, 15th century. A circular waterdropper with tortoise and salamander in high relief on the top. The tortoise is shown with its head totally retracted, the tiny spout has a cock's comb round it. The greyish-white body is covered with a white slip and in turn is covered by a heavily crazed pale bluish-celadon glaze. Some glaze flecks are missing.
