Menjugate meningitis C vaccine. Box containing a kit for administering a meningitis C vaccine injection. Menjugate contains inactivated extracts from the bacteria that cause meningitis C (Neisseria meningitidis group C). When injected, the vaccine stimulates the body's immune system to produce antibodies, but without causing an infection. The immune system can then respond quickly to future infections by the bacteria. The meningococcal group C vaccine is given as two separate doses, at three and four months of age. The child will then be given a booster dose at twelve months, in combination with a Hib booster.
