The crupper is turned,the dock piece adjusted, the aparejo settled to its place, and thecincha unfolded, placed, and tightened. Never put on or adjusta pack with the mules head uphill. Loads are divided into side packs and top packs. Side packsshould be of approximately equal weight and size. A keg of painton one side and an equal weight of oakum on the other do notmake a proper load. Side packs should not be longer than 30inches, wider than 20 inche
