Epilepsy pills. Boxes and blister packs of anti- convulsant pills for the treatment of epilepsy. The boxes contain 100 milligram (mg) pills (left) and 200mg pills (right) of the drug carbamazepine. Anticonvulsant drugs such as this are also used to prevent seizures following a serious head injury or brain surgery. They act by suppressing the abnormally high levels of electrical activity in the brain which cause seizures.
