She anchored out in thebay, and the trips to and from the shore, in her tenders,were interesting on account of the variety of ships amongwhich we passed. At night the harbor was like a dream of shone the full moon and the Southern encircling hills and shore sparkled with a myriadof lights. The water gleamed and glistened with therocking, dancing, darting lights on ships and boats. Val-paraiso appropriately might have been named the Bayof Paradise. CHAPTER XII.
