Staff Sgt. Trevor M. Woodruff, chief drill instructor, Receiving Company, escorts recruits with Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, to the contraband room during receiving at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 22. The recruits are required to discard any contraband they may have brought with them. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Lima Company is scheduled to graduate April 20.
