The T-55 Tank, preceded by the T-34, was used by the Soviet Army 1947-1989. 9m in length, including the gun, m wide, m high and weighing in at kg ( tons), It had a crew of four: commander, driver, gunner, loader. This ex-Iraqi Army tank was captured by the Royal Engineers during the opening stages of the Iraq War in 2003. It has been on display at the Imperial War Museum North since August 2008.
