Pigeon Point Lighthouse, California. Pigeon Point Lighthouse stands on a rocky headland about 40 miles south of the entrance to San Francisco Bay. It is one of the most powerful lights on the California coast, its flash having 475,000 candlepower. The white conical tower built in 1872, is 115 feet high.
