Miss Muloch at the Orange. photograph, must have been a delightfully picturesque habita-tion, witli its old-fashioned garden, stocked with ancient fruit this old house, like many another, has had to give place to themore pressing necessities of modern existence, and Bootle knows it nomore. It stood originally on land now in the possession of the Mayorof Bootle (Mr. Alderman Ascroft), an old and esteemed resident of theborough, and his present abode, Linacre House, is closely associatedwith the site of the vanished homestead.
