John Somerville Highfield (1871-1945), British engineer. Highfield was senior partner in the Highfield and Roger Smith firm of consulting engineers. His later positions included Chief Engineer to the Stafford Corporation Electricity Supply Department, and Chief Engineer of the Metropolitan Electricity Supply Company. He worked to improve high-voltage direct current electricity distribution in West London. He was President of the Institution of Electrical Engineers in 1921.
