With its sister ship \Shannon Breeze\", the ro-ro ferry \"Shannon Dolphin\" provides a ferry service across the Shannon Estuary in the West of Ireland for passengers, cars and a wide variety of commercial vehicles, including coaches, tankers and caravans. Linking Killimer in Co. Clare with Tarbert in Co. Kerry, the 20 minute crossing saves a journey of 137km (85 miles), through Limerick city, to get to the other side of the Shannon. The vessel can carry 52 cars and 350 passengers and is strategically important to industry and tourism in the region"
