P-43 in Den. Meet P-43 and P-44, the two newest members of our mountain lion study! These 3-4 week-old females are from two separate litters on opposite ends of our study area, one in the Santa Monica Mountains and the other in the Santa Susanas. This particular den was in an area with steep hillsides and large boulders. After about 45 minutes of searching, our biologist found P-43 underneath thick brush in the hollowed out area below.
