OCONNELL, WILLIAM L., treasurer of Cook county, was born in Chicago in 1S7X, educated in tlie publicschools and at St. Johns Academy. He later took a three-year law course at Northwestern University. He wasappointed commissioner ol public works under Mayor Dunne and for four years was chairman of the democraticcounty central committee. Mr. OConnell was elected treasurer of Cook county Nov. 8, 1910. 203
