Constant erosion from waves and tides has revealed the remains of Dominion Colliery Number 7. The hub coal seam in Glace Bay Nova Scotia was first mined to supply coal for the Fortress of Louisbourg between 1745-1749. The Dominion Coal Company operated the mine Designated Dominion Number 7 untill a catastrophic fire in 1906.
