Peri Monastery in Sapanta village. Here was built the tallest wooden church in the world

Peri Monastery in Sapanta village. With the original structure destroyed in 1703, the monastery was rebuilt at the end of the 20th century, beginning of the 21th, not far from the original location. Here was built the tallest wooden church in the world. The church is placed on a stone pedestal and it was built in typical Maramures region style. On top of the wooden structure, a 7 metres tall 400 kg iron cross was placed.
