Buffalo hide with bloody wounds after racing at Makepung buffalo races in Bali
Blood seeps from the hide of a living water buffalo after having raced around one of the many circuits that hold the Makepung buffalo racing tournament in Bali. These wounds are common due to the whip or spiked battering stick that is used to get the beasts moving at such pace over a long distance.
