Spain, Castile-La Mancha, Toledo. Cathedral of Saint Mary. Built in Gothic style between 1227 and 1493. Main facade. Gate of Forgiveness. Built under the direction of the architect Alvar Martínez (active between 1418 and 1440). It features an arch with six Gothic archivolts, Christ in the mullion and an apostolate in the jambs. In the tympanum, there is a sculptural relief depicting the Virgin imposing the chasuble on Saint Ildephonsus.
