A Colt model 1855 rifled musket, .44 cal., no. 2346. Round 27" barrel with rifled bore, somewhat rough, newly blued and shortened(?). Brass fore stock cap and screwed on clamping collar for bayonet fixing. Dovetailed front sight, on bottom side ramrod rest, folding sight. English proof mark on right side of barrel. Frame and cylinder cleaned to shine. On frame bridge marked "Col. Colt Hartford Ct. ". Cylinder also carries English proof marks and is stamped "Patented Sept. 10th" and again on right frame side above cock axis "Colt's Patent" as well as illeg,
