Air Commandos with the 4th Special Operations Squadron conducted a live-fire training mission in an AC-130U Spooky gunship at the Eglin Range, Fla., April 17, 2017. The AC-130U gunship’s primary missions are close air support, air interdiction and armed reconnaissance. The AC-130U is equipped with a 25mm Gatling gun, 40mm and 105mm canons, and can take off carrying more than 150,000 pounds of cargo.
