A 200 year old acacia tree fell down after a strong tornado hit the area on September 14 2018 at around 5:30 pm. The tree is is known to be one of the oldest tree in the city and was even awarded for its historical background. On September 14 2018, Super Typhoon Mangkhut hit the Philippines with wind speed of 205 kilometers per hour (kph), and gusts reaching 255 kph. More than a thousand of Filipino citizens all over the country have been affected. Forecasters have called the Manghut as one ofthe strongest typhoon this year. Mangkhut is the 15th storm to batter the Philippines this year.
