Panduk bird as locally known on a seasonal outings as Gulmohar blooms best in full red on Saraswati Puja or ‘Basontasav’ on Basant Panchami on Tuesday winter morning. Patna celebrates Basontasav on Basant Panchami today when Hindu Goddesses of learning Saraswati is worshipped. On this auspicious occasion students decorate themselves beautifully and various programs like puja, song and dance are organized. Incidentally today is also World Cancer Day and here at least one in ten consumes Quid or Khaini, a cancerous substance. Government now moots to increase taxes to curb use.
