Southernhay House,Exeter, is a three-storey detached villa in Southernhay East nearly opposite the entrance to Cathedral Close,

Southernhay East,Exeter, Cathedral Close, next to a modern office block, Trinity Court, which replaced a Methodist Church in the 1970s. The House was built around the turn of the 19th century, possibly by David Phillips, a local builder, who appears to have leased it to its earliest tenants. Much of the area was already being developed on a speculative basis by builders Nosworthy and Hooper.
