These wonderful plants attracted more attention at the New Orleans Exhibition than any others. They astonished the visitors with their brilliantly-colored rose, crimson, purple and yellow flowers, as well as with their peculiar shapes and construction. Cacti have much to recommend them to lovers of the curious and beautiful. They also possess a very valuable character in that they are of the easiest growth; so easy, in fact, that any one who can only devote a small space to them in the window should have them ; they require absolutely no care, and can be left for months without watering. In the dry, heated atmosphere of a room, which is so trying to most plants, they are perfectly at home. Planted out in the garden, among rock-work, they grow luxuriously, and soon form valuable specimens. Some of these plants come from Mexico, others from California, Montana and Utah, yet others from South America. We have made arrangements with an extensive collector whereby we can offer 10 beautiful varieties for $1,00. They will be the best and handsomest bloomers, and each one different in shape, flower and fruit. This is but little more than the price often paid for a single small plant.
