Ceanothus ‘Concha’
Ceanothus ‘Concha’ This is one of the best of the deep blue-flowered Ceanothus hybrids, with stiff arching shoots. It flowers in spring, when the whole plant can become a sheet of blue. It is a tough evergreen shrub which flourishes when growing in full sun and exposed to the strongest winds. Ceanothus impressus is similar but produces smaller sticky leaves and has a more upright growth habit; ‘Puget Blue’ is a fine clone. Cultivation Easily grown in well-drained soil and full exposure to the wind. Height to 9m (30ft); spread to 6m (20ft). USZ 8–11, surviving -12°C (10°F) of overnight of summer drought.
