Air National Guard C-130s and civilian air tankers are based here at CAL FIRE Air Tanker Base, McClellan Park, Calif. First Air Force (Air Forces Northern), Northern Command’s Air Component Command, is the DoD’s operational lead for the aerial military efforts. The USDA Forest Service activated the MAFFS-equipped Air Force C-130 aircraft June 26th through a DoD request for assistance.
