This variety of Allium may also be successf ull}- grown out- doors if well protected, and in- doors it makes a beautiful bulb- ous plant. Place four to six bulbs in a 5-inch pot in well-drained, sandy loam, and start into growth at once. In potting, place a little charcoal or broken pottery for drainage, then fill the pot with soil and shake it down but do not pack it. Plant the bulb just deep enough so that its top will not show.
