The arm is also to be used as a handle for passengersgetting in and out, and is well situated for that purpose, espe-cially for passengers leaving the car, inasmuch as it promptsthem to face in the right direction when stepping down. TheJ. G. Brill Company owns the patents now pending on this de-vice, has installed seats with this arrangement in a number ofconvertible cars, and intends using it regularly hereafter. This. The membership in this new association is steadily increas-ing, and its work certainly is so important that no companyand its staff can afford to be without the proceedings to whichmembership entitles it, to say nothing of the benefit derivedfrom attendance at the conventions. The Association has issued a little book, which will be sentupon application to the secretary. It gives information aboutthe Association and the endorsement its work is receiving.
