A new flood water outfall pipe has been transported by ship from Norway to the coast of Ireland and is now installed at Anchorsholme Beach, Blackpool, Lancashire. August 2017. This new extended submerged outfall pipe will discharge the excess screened stormwater out to sea and is part of improvements to the Fylde coast water management system. Filled with air to keep it afloat, the 20,000-tonne pipe left Ireland on Saturday afternoon and was pulled across the Irish Sea with an escort of 4 ships.
