PC-3 human prostate cancer cells. Differential interference contrast light micrograph showing PC-3 human prostate cancer cells. PC-3 is one of the cell lines used in prostate cancer research. The cells are used to investigate the cellular changes in advanced prostate cancer, and to study their response to drugs. PC-3 cell lines originated in 1979 from a 62-year-old prostate cancer patient.
