Karlskirche in Vienna was built to give thanks for the passing of a plague epidemic and dedicated to St Charles Borromeo
The church is a large one. It has two large pillars in front of it, in homage to the temple of Solomon, but modelled after Trajan’s Column in Rome. The interior is richly decorated and has gardens and a pool on the exterior
