Mr. Furlong has many interests inand about this section of Monterey county. Heowns a number of business blocks in Monterey, ispart owner of the First National Bank building ofthat city, has property interests on Lighthouseavenue, Pacific Grove, is a stockholder in theFirst National Bank of Monterey, and also astockholder in the Sand & Limestone Brick Com-pany. He has also owned extensive property inOakland, San Francisco and San Jose. Mr. Furlong was married December 5, 1861,to Mary Elizabeth White, a native of New Or- I. Three children have been born of theirunion, as follows: Albert W., a resident of Co-lumbia ; May Caroline, the wife of Albert Long,of Gilro}; and George W., who resides in Pa-cific Grove. Mr. Furlong has always been apublic-spirited man and has been ready to lendhis aid to any enterprise which would tend to ad-vance the interests of the community. EARL D. EDDY.
