This Roman temple was built in the 2nd century AD in Olympos, an ancient town near the modern village of Cirali in Turkey.


Olympos was an ancient city located along a river that reaches the far end of the beach of the modern village Çıralı at the Mediterranean coast in the province of Antalya in Southwestern Turkey. It was a member of the Lycian League and was abandoned only in the 15th century AC. This Roman temple was built in the 2nd century AD. Olympos war eine Stadt in Lykien, die an einem kleinen Fluss lag, der am Strand in der Nähe des Dorfes Çıralı an der Küste des Mittelmeers in der Provinz Antalya im Südwesten der Türke ins Meer mündet.
