ENCYCLOPEDIA OF BIOGRAPHY Mr. Parkhurst married, October 7,1896, Marian M. Moon, born in Bain- •bridge, New York, daughter of the S. H. Moon, a Presbyterian clergy-man who preached at Bainbridge andPeckville, and who was the pastor ofthe church at Elkland for more thaneighteen years. The work he accom-plished was of the highest order. Hewas a scholarly gentleman, and while atElkland received many nattering offersto accept other pastorates, but preferredto remain with the people to whom hehad become so deeply attached in thecourse of the passing years. His lastyears were spent in Brandt, Susque-hanna county, Pennsylvania, where hisdeath occurred at the age of seventyyears. Mrs. Parkhurst took specialcourses in language and music in WilsonCollege, and being possessed of a mag-nificent soprano voice was the recipientof a very fine musical education.
