An Ottoman karabbela, circa 1700 Sturdy single-edged blade with widened, double-edged point. Two narrow fullers on both sides, one extending to the point. The obverse struck with two saw tooth marks, the reverse with two small eyes. Iron cross-guard with languet, the facetted quillons slightly chiselled at the shoulder. Original grips of dark horn flaring toward the top, the exterior with typical chevron pattern. The iron grip strap incomplete.
