With minorexceptions, the ten rate groups for the region east of theRocky Mountains are the same in both sets of tariff class and commodity rates in each direction are givenfor each of the ten groups shown on the nia[). Group A in the tariff of the lines to and from Californiaincludes two piers at New York—that of the Morgan Line,to New Orleans and Galveston, and that of the ]\IalloiySteamship Company to Galveston. In the tariff of thenorthern transcontinental roads Group A rates ai)ply onlyto the New York pier of the IMorgan Line. These tariffsapply to traffic via Gulf ports. Group B rates cover all
