Alexander Wetmore and John Warren Aldrich, US ornithologists, with Annie Wetmore. Frank Alexander Wetmore (1886-1978), left, was an avian palaeontologist. He authored Birds of the Republic of Panama and several taxa of birds have been named in his honour, including the Cretaceous genus Alexornis and the tanagers Wetmorethraupis sterrhopteron and Buthraupis wetmorei. On the right is John Warren Aldrich (1906-1995), also an American ornithologist. Photograph taken in 1969.
