In our sight-seeing we Avent to a Tartar l^han, or inn, a large build-ing two stories high and built around a court-yard, in accordance withthe Tartar custom. The court-yard receives wagons and horses, whilethe rooms that front upon it are rented to merchants and others whodesire them. The master of the place will supply food to those whoexpressly ask for it, and pay accordingly, but he is not expected todo so.
